Information We Collect

1. Account Information

When you create an account or use Willforge, we collect:

• Name: Used to personalize your experience and for AI assistant conversations
• Device Identifier: Used for automatic account creation and authentication
• Birthday (optional): Collected during onboarding to personalize coaching
• Profession (optional): Collected during onboarding to provide relevant suggestions
• Timezone: To schedule reminders and display activities in your local time
• Language Preference: To display the app in your preferred language

2. User-Generated Content

We collect and store the following content you create:

• Goals, Habits, and Tasks: Names, details, and relationships of your goals and their associated habits and tasks
• Daily Logs: Completion records, execution counts, and reflection notes
• Milestones: Personal goals and progress towards them
• Reminders: Scheduled times for notifications
• Chat Conversations: Messages exchanged with our AI assistant, including onboarding conversations
• Memories: AI-extracted insights about your preferences, goals, and context

3. Usage Data

We automatically collect:

• Progress Statistics: Streak counts, completion rates, and practice patterns
• AI Usage Metrics: Token counts and cost tracking for AI features (used for quality of service)
• Activity Timestamps: When you use the app and update your data
• Session Information: Chat session metadata and conversation summaries
• Product Analytics: Information about how people use and interact with the app. We do not send chat text, action titles, names, email addresses, document names, or reflection content to analytics.
• Security and Integrity Data: App and device integrity signals, temporary security session data, and related technical metadata used to protect the service and prevent abuse

4. Subscription and Purchase Data

If you purchase or restore a subscription, we may collect and store:

• Subscription Status: Whether your Premium subscription is active, cancelled, expired, or restored
• Product and Entitlement Data: The subscription product, entitlement status, renewal or expiration dates, and related purchase state
• Store and Transaction Metadata: Limited metadata from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and our subscription service provider used to verify and manage your subscription

5. Safety Reports and Feedback

If you report an assistant response, we may collect and store:

• Report Data: The reason for the report and any optional details you provide
• Related Message Data: The reported message, chat session identifiers, and related metadata needed to review the report

6. Push Notification Tokens

If you enable notifications, we collect:

• Expo Push Token: Used to send reminders and check-in notifications to your device

7. Uploaded Documents and Images

You can attach documents (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, Markdown) and images (taken with your camera, chosen from your photo library, or pasted) to a chat so the assistant can use them as context. When you do:

• What we keep: the file name, type, and size, and the text extracted from the file or image (including derived summaries and search indexes), linked to the chat session you attached it to
• What we do not keep: the original file itself — documents and images are processed to extract their content and are not stored with your account
• Uploaded content is deleted along with its chat session, and with your account when you delete it
• Camera and photo library access are requested only when you choose to attach a photo, and each attachment is your explicit action — Willforge never scans your photo library or takes pictures on its own

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Calculate and display your progress, streaks, and statistics
• Send scheduled reminders and daily check-in notifications
• Enable the AI assistant to provide relevant coaching and suggestions
• Manage Premium subscriptions, restore purchases, and determine access to paid features

AI-Powered Features

• Onboarding: Create personalized action plans based on your goals
• Chat Assistant: Provide contextual life coaching and action suggestions
• Memory System: Remember your preferences and conversation context to give more relevant advice

Service Improvement

• Monitor AI usage to ensure quality of service
• Optimize app performance and user experience
• Review reported assistant responses to improve safety, quality, and policy compliance

Data Storage and Security

Where We Store Your Data

• Your data is stored in secure databases hosted on reputable cloud providers
• All data is encrypted and stored in compliance with industry security standards

How We Protect Your Data

• Industry-standard encryption for all data at rest and in transit
• Secure authentication with automatic session expiration
• Access controls to limit data access to authorized systems only
• App integrity and request integrity checks to help detect abuse and unauthorized access
• Regular security updates and monitoring

On-Device Features and Permissions

Some optional features use device capabilities through operating-system permissions. They are off until you enable them, and you can revoke each permission at any time in your device settings.

Voice Input (Microphone and Speech Recognition)

• Dictation and hands-free conversations use your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple's or Google's, depending on your platform). Depending on your device settings and language, your device may process audio on-device or through Apple's or Google's speech services, according to their privacy policies.
• Willforge never receives, stores, or uploads your audio. We receive only the transcribed text, and only when you send it as a message.

Read-Aloud (Text-to-Speech)

• Spoken replies are synthesized entirely on your device using your operating system's voices. No audio or speech data leaves your device for this feature.

Calendar

• If you enable calendar sync, Willforge creates session events in a dedicated calendar on your device so your planned sessions appear alongside your day.
• This is write-only. We do not read, collect, or upload the contents of your calendar, and disabling the feature removes the events Willforge created.

Third-Party Services

AI Services

Willforge uses OpenRouter to access AI language models. When you interact with our AI assistant:

• Your messages and relevant context are sent through OpenRouter to AI model providers used to power the service
• Images and extracted document content you attach are also processed by AI models through OpenRouter to read and understand them
• Our OpenRouter workspace enforces a Zero Data Retention (ZDR) policy: only ZDR-eligible models and providers can be used with our account. This applies to all AI requests, including attached images and extracted document content
• We do not share your personal identifiers with these services
• AI providers may process your messages according to their own privacy policies
• We use provider and model safety measures to help reduce harmful or inappropriate outputs, but AI responses may still be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable in some cases

Push Notifications

We use Expo's push notification service to deliver:

• Scheduled reminders for your actions
• Daily check-in notifications

Product Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand whether core app flows are useful and where users encounter friction:

• Analytics events describe how people use and interact with the app
• We do not send chat messages, action titles, names, email addresses, uploaded document names, or reflection content to Firebase Analytics
• Firebase may process app-instance, device, platform, session, and approximate usage information according to Google's policies

Subscription Management and Payments

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and entitlement status across platforms. When you subscribe, restore purchases, or refresh subscription status:

• We may send your app user identifier and limited subscription metadata to RevenueCat to verify and manage your entitlement status
• Apple and Google process payments directly through the App Store and Google Play; we do not receive your full payment card details
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google may process subscription-related data according to their own privacy policies and terms

Data Retention

• Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active
• Account Deletion: When you use Delete My Account, we delete your app content and associated account data, but may retain a device identifier and limited system-generated usage records needed for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, quota enforcement, billing support, and security
• Chat Sessions: Older chat sessions become read-only but are retained for your reference
• AI Usage Data: Retained for billing and service quality purposes
• Subscription Records: Retained as needed to support subscription verification, restore purchases, fraud prevention, tax/accounting obligations, and customer support
• Safety Reports: Retained as needed to review abuse, enforce policies, and improve service safety

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access Your Data

• View all your actions, logs, and progress within the app
• Access your chat history and memories

Update Your Data

• Edit your profile information, actions, and logs at any time
• Update your preferences and notification settings

Delete Your Data

• Delete individual chat sessions (except onboarding)
• Delete individual actions and their associated data
• Delete your account directly within the Profile screen; this removes your app content and account data, while limited device-linked technical and usage records may be retained for abuse prevention and security

Children's Privacy

Willforge is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top
